It never made sense to him, how the paramedics took forever to turn up to their destination, simply hoping someone there knew a bit of first aid, or hopefully were trained by a hospital. Never ceased to amaze him how when they turned up on scene, they'd act as if they were the first ones there, and they know everything that happened, when clearly they didn't. It bothered Daniel quite a bit, he never quite understood why, it just did. However, he forced a smile when the paramedics shut the door to their ambulance taking the elderly lady away who had fallen down for some odd reason, there was nothing around she could have tripped on, but he had faith in the hospital team. "Alright, bye Greg. I'll call you later, have a bit of a ramble. " He called to the paramedic who was a friend from the past. A few seconds later, the ambulance started to drive off, and sirens boomed out and echoed around the area, a few people who were near the ambulance dropped their shopping and covered their ears with their hands until the ambulance had gone, Daniel however had already started to make his way into the shop to begin his weekly shopping. He had a small rule for himself; once the casualty is in the hands of the paramedics, just leave. "Excuse me, but you seem to know what you're doing, are you by any chance a doctor?"
Daniel turned around to find out who was talking to him, but it was only a small child. He nodded, then opened his mouth to say something, but then closed it again. He contemplated his response to the child, but then decided he might as well just explain. "I was a doctor, but I quit when I moved here, not long ago." He explained as he allowed his legs to bend down to the child's height, so the child didn't feel as if there was any difference between him and Daniel. Daniel felt that treating everyone equally, age aside, was the best policy to have in this day and age. The child nodded then ran off to it's mother screaming something about her being right, then Daniel simply chuckled, then got back up and turned back to his trolley, then began to walk back round the shop. He was here for one reason, and one reason only; get his weekly shopping done and dusted. "Right. First I need.. " He muttered to himself, looking down at the list, then darted off to the bread aisle. He needed to be quick today, he had places to be and people to see. He whisked around the shop, filling his trolley up, bit by bit, until he came to a sudden halt with a crowd of people gathered around a small child. "Oh that takes the piss." He muttered to himself, simply staring; he wasn't in the mood right now to go and treat someone else. If he was in the ER working, he would have to, but right now, he didn't have to, so he just left it, and stared. He decided if an ambulance doesn't come within ten minutes, he would throw himself in the action, and assist the child, but for now, he had to stand back. He simply walked off, losing interest, and knowing the child would be perfectly fine, the most likely out come would be he has concussion. He plugged his headphones into his ears, and turned his iPod on, turning it all the way up. He wasn't quite sure what he was listening to, but he liked it. He brushed passed a few people by accident as he jumped onto the wheels of his trolley and flew down the aisle into the games and CD area of the shop. He needed something to keep his game junkie side down, and to satisfy him for a few weeks until he completes the game, and he could do with a new CD or two while he was at it.
"This looks good..." He muttered to himself, almost so quiet he couldn't hear himself speak. He placed the game in his trolley then smiled, and walked back to the food of the shop. It was making him feel rather hungry, all the pacing around, and being near so much food, even though some of it didn't look edible in the state it was in. He allowed his right hand to brush up against a packet of Nesquick milkshake, one of his all time favourite to drink, yet he found he hadn't had any in what felt like years. He grabbed a box of strawberry and a box of banana flavour, then threw it in his trolley, then a box of 15 eggs int he front compartment which is where he decided a new t shirt would go, as he needed a t shirt, or a shirt of some kind, as he was beginning to grow out of the stuff he already had, and most of the colour on the rest was beginning to fade on it. Daniel looked up for a moment, then felt some sort of electric shock on his hand, and then looked at the person who gave it to him. Must have been the static on the man's hand, as he didn't assume the guy went round carrying electric things to shock people. He shrugged the though off, then continued on his way down the milk aisle, until he noticed a lady who seemed to be having trouble reaching some cheese on the top shelf. He made his way over to her, offering his help. She stood back and allowed Daniel to grab the cheese. "Which flavour? Chedder, extra mature, red leicster, et cetera." He said to her in a sing-song voice. The lady pointed to the chedder cheese, so Daniel simply picked it up and gave it to her, then walked off, back to do his own shopping. He had never known to be so long in the shop, knowing his luck something else was going to pop up and he's be even later for his meeting.
